Net Watchers

This Great Blue Heron found the perfect perch on the bow of this skiff, joined by an Osprey atop a nearby pole, each patiently watching and waiting for their lunch from this fish net on the upper Rappahannock River.

  3. I think this shot is amazing! Our osprey residents do not like the blue herons visiting below their osprey platform and will dive-bomb them to try to force the blue heron to fly off. Yours are very cordial, love it! As I tell mine, hey there’s enough fish for everyone! 🙂

    • Thanks for the comment, Donna. I think when the birds are hungry, they must have a little more tolerance for each other. I was on the Capt. Thomas charter boat with 80 people when this shot just lined up nicely. — Rob

  4. Thanks for your comments. This shot was taken hand-held from a distance while I was onboard the Captain Thomas passenger boat cruising 10 knots up the Rappahannock River. I got lucky!
