About Me
In my view, a good photograph tells a story. A great photograph tells a story you never forget. A noble aspiration. I love photography not just because it’s creative, artistic or fun. I love photography because it has taught me a different way to view the world, a new way to see. If you’re reading this, then I hope one of my photos caught your eye and your curiosity about who chose to see and preserve that moment in time.
A native Virginian, I spend my spare time exploring this beautiful state, from the Monticello Wine Trail along the eastern Blue Ridge to the rivers and backwater tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. While photography and writing are my passions, I spend my professional life as a communications director for a pharmaceutical company that occasionally provides opportunities for me to travel internationally. Wherever I go, I usually take my Nikon along to capture those magical moments created by color, texture, light, and my desire to see and share them with you. I’m new to photo blogging and look forward to sharing my images, seeing and learning from others, swapping stories, and making some new friends along the way. Stop by anytime.
– Rob Norman
Pleased to meet you. I admire photographers in that they can see, what most of us simply pass on by.

Hi RC – I especially like your titles. They remind me of Kelsae Skye. Keep up the beautiful work. I, too, have a Nikon – which I love – and spend waaaay too little time using it. You remind me to do that! I love boats, too. Had a Rinker sleeper cabin, but proved too much work for hubby and I with our “day jobs.” But boy, it was fun. As are any boat owners! Cheers, AMS
May 31, 2012 at 7:43 am
Hi AMS, thanks for your kind words. I was not familiar with Kelsae Skye, so I googled and found their blog. Now I’m a follower 🙂 I’m glad I might inspire you to dust off that Nikon and use it. Photography keeps my young! And yes, boats are a labor of love, but sometimes that labor gets to be more than the love 🙂 I do enough just to keep mine floating. Running is a different story. Cheers, Rob

Was just listening to WRVA on my drive home. Great radio station. You must have known Charlie Fishburn. I believe he worked there before he moved to TV news with WTVR. He’s my neighbor.

Hi, Rob — For some reason I’m not getting email notification of your new posts. WordPress shows that I am following you, but I don’t think I’ve received anything since I started subscribing a few weeks ago.
May 9, 2012 at 11:53 pm
Hi Darla, I’m still learning how all this works, but I think you can manage your follows/subscriptions from the Dashboard. You can follow someone in your Reader without getting their posts via email. If you want to receive emails, you need to specify that. Probably the easiest way is to use the Follow via email button on my blog home page. Let me know if that works. And thanks again for your interest in my photos. — Rob

Hi, Rob — Thank you for visiting my blog. Your photographs are wonderful. Since I’m not much of a traveler, I use photographs to see the world. I’ll be sure to visit your blog regularly. A friend moved to Virginia a few years ago and she’d like me to come out (I’m in California). Maybe someday …
